abstract

the object of this work is solubility correlation and prediction of co2 and h2s in various aqueous alkanolamines using the electrolyte cubic square-well equation of state (ecsw eos) [haghtalab, a.,mazloumi, s. h., (2009a), fluid phase equilib.,285,96-104]. the eeos systematically is applied to describe the solubility of acid gases in various alkanolamine solutions, including mdea, mea, dea, amp, dipa, tea, dga and pz. in calculations of chemical equilibrium all of the molecular and ionic species have been taken in to account. also, in order to improve the modeling, the n2o analogy method was used to calculate the molecular interaction parameters in binary acid gas and alkanolamine solutions. the results of the method are in good agreements with experiments. to investigate the accuracy of the modeling, the simultaneous solubility of mixed co2 and h2s in aqueous mea, dea, mdea, tea and amp solutions are also predicted. acceptable results were achieved for the quaternary systems. in this work, over 3000 experimental data points were used in order to correlate and predict the solubility of co2 and h2s in the various alkanolamine solutions.

Correlation and Prediction of Solubility of CO2 in Amine Aqueous Solutions

The solubility of CO2 in the primary, secondary, tertiary and sterically hindered amine aqueous solutions at various conditions was studied. In the present work, the Modified Kent-Eisenberg (M-KE), the Extended Debye-Hückel (E-DH) and the Pitzer models were employed to study the solubility of CO2 in amine aqueous solutions. Two explicit equations are presented to evalu...

An Evaluation of Four Electrolyte Models for the Prediction of Thermodynamic Properties of Aqueous Electrolyte Solutions

In this work, the performance of four electrolyte models for prediction the osmotic and activity coefficients of different aqueous salt solutions at 298 K, atmospheric pressure and in a wide range of concentrations are evaluated. In two of these models, (electrolyte Non-Random Two-Liquid e-NRTL and Mean Spherical Approximation-Non-Random Two-Liquid MSA-NRTL), association between ions of opposit...

Modeling the Solubility of Acid Gases in Ionic Liquids

In this work, the PC-SAFT equation of state (EoS) has been used to model the solubility of acid gases (CO2 and H2S) in two imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) ([C8-mim][PF6] and [C8-mim][Tf2N]). Parameters of pure ILs were estimated using experimental densities. Two strategies were considered to model densities of pure ILs. In strategy 1, ILs were modeled as nonassociating compounds and in st...
